having a college degree and working at minimum wage is my motivation to create games right now.

yeah, I guess that could help

jealousy and murderous hatred

still looking for the man who killed your parents when you were a kid?

ur mom

oh you waskilly wabbit you.

people always complain, motivation this, motivation that. They're just excuses for not finishing a project. Its not a lack of motivation, its laziness. If you put time and effort into something it will be completed, motivation=BS.

so you're saying there are no reasons you work on something? you just do it and it's done?

i make up deadlines for myself

deadlines for competitions and stuff help a LOT for me. that's basically the only time I can get anything done.

cop dat slut

cop dat slut 2: revenge of the slut

yeah it's tough to get motivated especially for animashunz
music helps I guess
how about MOTIVATIONAL POSTERS!
I just love the process of drawing and learning and that's usually enough to motivate me :D
plus most of the above

whenever I heard motivational music I always think of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX O3gKfOUN8

When I start a project, my initial excitement for being able to express the idea behind it is my motivation. The more I work on a project, however, the less motivated I am to finish it. Especially if it's hard work. It's a terrible thing to have happen, but it does. TT_TT

this is what's happening to me right now as well.

I don't know why, but being extremely sleepy gives me a lot of random motivation... :S

idk man, I usually go to sleep when I'm sleepy

I always think to myself that the longer I work on something, the longer other people will watch/play it.

yeah, this does seem reasonable. what I make is usually short and sweet.

well i usually work harder when im not at home or somewhere where i can do lots of other things instead of working
or ill just say if i finish this much work then i can get a piece of candy or i get to take a break after this much
or you know you could just handcuff you to a chair next to your work so you have nothing else to do BUT work

a day to have it done by. I'm a very lazy person so a limit on how long I can take will at least make sure I have it done. this used to end with me rushing but now it's less sleep. I can aford less sleep however

or i don't work on something for a bit then think about it being finished and am like "wow i need to finish this"

when the end result is sex. or on a more proper note when im doing what i love and i remember what i was like before i did what i love. how empty i would feel.

Well, I'm none of those things...but when I animate, I always looks at some of the other animations here on NG and keep thinking, "What if I could do better?" Of course, when I say animations, I mean some of the higher quality work, but it always turns out wrong. I haven't quit yet and I will keep going though.

Just a thought on my part.

The thought of how the ng staff will neglect your work and put something that everyone quarrels about on the fp instead of your own thing that people actually seemed to liked and took you months to make!
but no seriously, feedback and seeing my creation come to life, VANITY i s'pose haha.

Badass music

Vagina.

Though that has less relevance to the artistic process.

When I feel like a REALLY good idea suddenly pops into my head, motivation comes naturally for me. I'll think of and do whatever I can to make that idea a reality.
Recently I've basically decided that I probably won't find the motivation to finish a movie or game unless a big goofy smile shoots across my face the moment I think of making it.
